Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust looks after the collective affairs of our hapū. We have more than 8,000 registered members across Aotearoa and overseas. Ōrākei Marae is our cultural hub.

Purpose of the role
We are looking for a Housing & Tenancy Coordinator to support the Housing & Tenancy Manager in delivering quality housing services to whānau.
This role provides administrative and coordination support across tenancy processes, ensuring compliance with tenancy law and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei housing policies. The Housing & Tenancy Coordinator will help ensure whānau have access to safe, warm kāinga and that tenancy documentation, inspections, and reporting are completed to a high standard.

Essential
- Experience in database management and preparation of formal documentation.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with whānau and de-escalate situations when required.
- Proven stakeholder engagement experience.
Desirable
- Proficiency in te reo Māori or willingness to learn
- Familiarity with tenancy and housing compliance frameworks and legislation and/or real estate qualifications

Key Result Areas:
Manage tenancy-related documentation from application to termination.
Assist with housing waitlist management, allocation committee reporting, and tenancy tribunal documentation.
Support the Manager in liaising with tenants, whānau, and external stakeholders.
Record and monitor property inspections, maintenance requests, and compliance reports.
Track rent recovery and document tenancy breaches or disputes.
Help organise whānau hui and community events to support papakāinga life.
