Te Puna Reo Ōkahukura
Te Puna Reo Ōkahukura takes its name from a place in the Kaipara Harbour, Tāporapora, that was close to the last ancient whare wānanga of Ngāti Whātua. Ōkahukura was the beginning stage of higher learning, which then developed to Te Mānuka, which then developed and was finalised at Manukapua.
Te Puna reo Ōkahukura is the beginning of the educational pathway Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei are creating for their uri and any whānau interested in a Ngāti Whātua centric educational pathway.

About Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei
We are the tangata whenua of Tāmaki with our mana over the land and sea being underpinned by take tūpuna (ancestral relationships), take raupatu (taking of the land and sea by traditional warfare), ahi kā (unbroken occupation) and tuku whenua (traditional gifting of land ).
Ko au te tangata whenua o Tāmaki pokapū me Te Waitematā. He take tupuna, he take raupatu, he ahi kā, he tuku whenua, te takenga mai o tōku rangatiratanga, ki runga o Te Kahu Tōpuni o Tuperiri e hora ake nei.
