We are tangata whenua in Tāmaki. Our authority over land and sea rests on take tupuna, take raupatu, ahi kā, and tuku whenua.
Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust looks after the collective affairs of our hapū. We have more than 8,000 registered members across Aotearoa and overseas. Ōrākei Marae is our cultural hub.

Purpose of the role
We are looking for a P&P/Legal Administrator to provide high-quality administration and system support across both our People & Performance and Legal teams based at our Auckland CBD office.
This role is responsible for enhancing and streamlining HR and legal functions, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and data integrity. You will support the Chief People & Performance Officer, General Counsel, Business Partners, and wider team through effective administration, inbox management, documentation accuracy, and the adoption of digital tools.
This is a varied role that balances administration, data management, and project support, while ensuring confidentiality and cultural integrity remain at the forefront.

Essential
- Previous administration experience and proficiency in MS Office.
- Tertiary qualification in HR, law, or similar.
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Confidence in managing inbox communications, correspondence tracking, and meeting coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing written documentation.
Desirable
- Broad experience across multiple functions or sectors.
- Te reo Māori capability or willingness to learn.
- Ability to work at pace and resolve matters proactively.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day administrative support across HR and Legal functions.
Ensure accurate documentation and records management.
Manage inbox queries and support timely responses.
Uphold strict data security, confidentiality, and compliance standards.
Assist with coordination of P&P training sessions, huis, and onboarding.
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR and legal processes.
