Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei is a hapū of Ngāti Whātua. We live in and around the Tāmaki isthmus. We hold to our mana motuhake, our history, our culture, our identity, and our reo. Our whakapapa traces to Tuperiri and the hapū Ngā Oho, Te Taoū, and Te Uringutu.
We are tangata whenua in Tāmaki. Our authority over land and sea rests on take tupuna, take raupatu, ahi kā, and tuku whenua.
Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust looks after the collective affairs of our hapū. We have more than 8,000 registered members across Aotearoa and overseas. Ōrākei Marae is our cultural hub.
Te Kahu Tōpuni o Tuperiri describes the protective reach of our ancestor across our rohe.
Purpose of the role
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Tamariki Ora team on a 12-month fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.
This role works in alignment with the Tamariki Ora Schedule and the Well Child Framework, ensuring national targets and contractual requirements are met while delivering culturally responsive, community-based care.
You will work alongside clinical and community kaimahi to provide the best possible health outcomes for whānau, delivering services across homes, marae, early childhood centres, clinics and other community settings.

Ngā tino pūkenga/whēako | Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Current NZ Nursing Registration
Current Annual Practising Certificate
Experience working in primary health care, community health, or child health
Strong knowledge of child growth and development (birth to five years)
Ability to work autonomously in community settings
Full NZ Driver Licence
Desirable:
Authorised Vaccinator status
Te Reo Māori proficiency
Experience working with Māori whānau and in kaupapa Māori environments
